Also known as "premise control," alarm systems also protect and notify once that exterior barrier is broken. Once someone is inside the building, strategically placed motion detectors alert the system to the location of the person or object in question. Via alerts, users can be notified every time a PIR (Passive Infrared) beam is tripped.

Investing in a high quality alarm system is important. But more importantly, the installation of that system must also be high quality. Some important aspects to consider when looking at alarm systems:

• Does the alarm system have dual path technology?
• Meaning multiple ways to communicate out in case of an emergency.
• Does the alarm system offer wireless communication?
• Can the alarm system be controlled remotely via a free app?
• Will it cost extra to install multiple devices?

These are all important questions to ask and think about, as some companies can be full of surprises. Its crucial to safety and security of the property to have multiple paths of communication out of the panel. If one communication path fails, you have an alternate. Such as 1 connection is ethernet, the other is cellular / wireless. Its always good to check the signal strength of the provider in your area before committing to a particular telecommunications provider.
